Marie-Andrée Gougeon

Active in the canadian dance community since the early 1980s, Marie-Andrée Gougeon has worked with several generations of artists and choreographers. Her most significant collaborations saw her working with Martin Bélanger, Benoît Lachambre, Daniel Léveillé, José Navas, Jean-Pierre Perreault, and German choreographer Sasha Waltz. In the 2001-2002 season, she was assistant artistic director at the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, and since August 2003 she has been co-artistic director of the Daniel Léveillé company. In 2001, Marie-Andrée was awarded an M.Sc. for her research on the foundations of the mental image of body alignment among dancers.
